Every year we ask our members a simple question: is get2gether making a difference to your life? This year 54 active members took the time to tell us. Thank you to every single one of you — these answers shape what we do next.

Here is what you said.

Building healthy relationships

93% (50 of 54) said that through get2gether they had gained skills to help build healthy relationships.

This is the highest result in the survey, and it is the one we are proudest of. Building healthy relationships is the thread running through everything — our courses, our events, and the friendships members make along the way.

A better life

87% (47 of 54) said being a member of get2gether made their life better.

85% (46 of 54) said they felt happier because of get2gether.

Friendship

81% (44 of 54) said they had more friends because of get2gether.

We started in 2013 because adults with disabilities told us they wanted opportunities to find friendship and love. Thirteen years on, four out of five members are telling us it is working.

Confidence and self-determination

74% (40 of 54) said that being a member of get2gether helped them feel more positive about themself.

70% (38 of 54) said they felt more able to live life the way they wanted because of get2gether.

70% (38 of 54) said they felt more confident because of get2gether.

What this means for us

get2gether has three aims: to reduce the social isolation of adults with disabilities, to increase their emotional resilience, and to increase their self-determination. This survey speaks to all three.

It also shows us where there is more to do. Confidence and living life the way you want are the two areas where fewer members felt the difference — and those are exactly the things our Live YOUR Life and Friendship courses are built to work on. We will keep going.
