Accessibility
Make this website work for you
We want everyone to be able to use this website.
Three things you can change
Look for the blue Accessibility button in the bottom corner of every page. It opens a small box with three settings. We remember your choice, so you only have to set it once.
Bigger text
Choose Normal, Bigger or Biggest. Everything on the page grows with it — headings, buttons and links — so nothing gets cut off.
Read this page to me
Press Read aloud and your device reads the page out to you. The part being read is highlighted in yellow so you can follow along. Press Stop whenever you like.
Background colour
Choose a soft blue, yellow or purple background instead of white. Many people who have dyslexia find words easier to read on a colour.
Some older browsers cannot read pages out loud. If you do not see the Read aloud button, the rest of the settings still work — and we can send you information in another format instead.
How this website is built to be accessible
We have used large text and buttons so they are easy to read and easy to click.
You can use this website with just a keyboard, without needing a mouse.
You can use this website with a screen reader.
The site respects your device's reduced-motion setting, so animations are turned down if you prefer that.
We use clear headings to help you find your way around each page.
We add alt text to our photos, describing what is in the picture for people using screen readers.
We check our colours for good contrast, following the WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines.
Other formats
We already produce a text-only version of our monthly Community Magazine.
If you would like information in another format, email admin@get2gether.org.uk.
